Practices are no longer able to create patients account's manually via the Admin portal.
Since we launched NHS login in March 2020, the majority of patients now register for the App via the NHS Login process. This process allows patients to verify their identity online, eliminating the need for patients to bring ID into the surgery for verification.
With exciting new features being released later this year to expand features on the App, patients will need to be registered via NHS login to access the full functionality. Nothing is changing here right away - we will keep you updated with any changes as necessary.
Patients that have already registered to the App will be encouraged to migrate their account to ensure they have continuing access to the full functionality.
The only change you will notice right now is that you are no longer able to create patients account's manually via the admin portal. We understand that for some surgeries this might feel like a big change but we are here to support you and your patients with any issues that might arise when patients are registering for the app via NHS login.
